Ayanna Jordan is founder of The Phoenix Rising Collective. She is a personal and professional development coach, speaker, and self-care advocate developing and facilitating dynamic women-centered workshops and coaching services that focus on how putting self-love into action can transform your life.
She has always had a passion for inspiring others, and for most of her career has worked in education and non-profit sectors fulfilling her strong commitment to work in meaningful and purpose-filled positions that make a difference. From being the director of a college access program to teaching as a resident artist for one of southeast Ohio’s premiere art centers, she has always used her work to level the playing field – addressing equal educational access for first-generation college students to supporting women by developing quality resources helpful to sparking personal growth and igniting real transformational change. “I believe a change agent is someone who is in alignment with what she loves to do, and then connects, utilizes, and shares that love to make a difference and transform lives.”
Following the Inner Voice
Ready to move forward and let intuition be her guide, Ayanna took her first love – empowering women – to the next level. Using her entrepreneurial skills, she diligently worked to bring The PRC to fruition and has been cultivating its success since January 2012. In fact, she wholeheartedly knows that helping women lead more intentional lives is her purpose.
Her vision to create this community came out of the realization that most resources related to self-care and whole living have a lack of consistent and diverse representation of women of color. “I want to share and inform from a perspective that includes us, that shows that we’re also doing this work – and have been. All women need to see a reflection of themselves. It’s a powerful motivator, sparking the thought, ‘Hey, maybe I can do this, too.'”
Work as Love Made Visible
The Phoenix Rising Collective is Ayanna’s grandest love made visible and her greatest healer. Coaching women on making daily self-care a practice in their personal and professional lives keeps her in alignment to do the same.
She is a graduate of Ohio University and a certified mediator in conflict resolution. She is excited to grow The PRC into a thriving community.
