Ayanna Jordan is founder and personal empowerment coach of The Phoenix Rising Collective (PRC), and the editor-in-chief for Phoenix Shine, The PRC’s blog.
She develops and leads dynamic, women-centered workshops with a focus on how putting self-love into action can transform your life. She also creates coaching seminars and training that supports women’s professional growth in leadership, entrepreneurship, and passion-filled work.
Ayanna has always had a passion for inspiring others and for most of her career has worked in the education and non-profit sectors to fulfill her strong commitment to social change and even stronger desire to give back. From being the director of a college access program to teaching as a resident artist for one of southeast Ohio’s premiere art centers, she has always used her work to address issues ranging from educational access for first-generation college students to authentic leadership development for women. “I believe a change agent is someone who is in alignment with what she loves to do, and then connects, utilizes, and shares that love to make a difference and transform lives.”
Following the Inner Voice
Ready to move forward and let intuition be her guide, Ayanna took her first love – developing services that empower women – to the next level. Utilizing her 10 years of management experience and applying her education in educational administration, she diligently worked to bring The PRC to fruition, and has been cultivating its success since January 2012. In fact, she wholeheartedly knows that helping women realize their worth and commit to positive personal change is her purpose.
Her vision to provide an affirming model for self-love and more positive, holistic representations of women came from years of noticing that in most health and wellness publications, there is an overwhelming under representation of women of color, as well as the wide range of diversity of all women.
Work as Love Made Visible
Ayanna’s current work is her grandest love made visible, and her greatest healer. Teaching, coaching, and writing about women making conscious, daily commitments to self-acceptance, self-love, and self-care keeps her in alignment to do the same.
She is a graduate of Ohio University and a certified mediator in conflict resolution. She is committed to positive personal change, the pursuit of purpose, and expanding The PRC into a holistic wellness center.
